just had a very very interesting conversation with someone very close to my heart. where normality would usually take place..somehow “us” came up again. i dont remember if it was him or i & i wont point the finger but a lot of things came out that i had no idea were even up for discussion. i think i felt a lump in my throat and everything at least twice. since him, ive done a complete revamp of the person that i used to be but he constantly tries to pull that out of me & tonight he may have won. i felt like i had lost control of the situation & things/feelings that i never wanted him to know were still there slipped through my lips without one regret. i dont know what i want. im not sure what he wants….but something keeps bringing us to this strange place & i no longer have a solution for when these things happen. at one point he was my everything…& i was his. now we’ve “moved on”. he has his relationship…i have my son. i can hear it in his voice everytime we talk that hes not happy & maybe thats what caused it to come up. so maybe it was me. or at least the old me that brought up the idea of “us”. its just a confusing situation when for years youve been tryna get over someone & every now & then they say things that question YOUR thoughts of the situation. i know im rambling but just bear with me. this is the only way ill be able to sleep tonght. maybe somewhere deep down i dont want to get over him. and i hate that.

what constitutes a good intro to an actual relationship? i ask this because i thought i had it figured out. the chemistry, the lack of those awkward silences, the similar interests? what happens when all thats there…but its still not right? or maybe one of the parties in question is totally down for the ‘lets see what happens’ idea & the other one is as well but …falsely? dont you think they owe it to that person to keep it real? to identify the hang-ups & figure it all out before one or both people are too far gone. so its FINALLY here!!! after like 2+ years of waiting…its FINALLY here! Freaknik: The Musical! just typing it makes me excited. for those of you that have NO idea what im talking about…lemmie fill you in.

we all know & remember the beloved ATL “mardi-gras” type music festival that died with the 90s…well this is a parody of it in some sorts…with another story surrounding it. Its a brain child of Teddy Penderassdown (thats T-Pain to all you square bears) in association with Williams Street (responsible for shows like Space Ghost Coast to Coast, The Venture Bros., Aqua Teen Hunger Force & Robot Chicken) & Carl Jones (producer of The Boondocks cartoon).

This is supposed to be spawned from David Banner’s attempt at animation called That Crook’d Sipp (pictured below)… the aspiring rappers in Freaknik: The Musical were first seen here. i imagine the show would have done better if it wasnt filled with boring ass white folks. Either way, Mr. Banner has a role in this as well as some other great names like Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Kelis, Andy Samburg, Lil Jon, Big Boi, Charlie Murphy, DJ Drama, Rick Ro$$, Cee-Lo, Bootsey Collins, George Clinton & more.

ive decided to brake down the science of munchies (& there IS a science…). To all my new booty smokers…take notes. To all my expert tokers let me know how close i was to the rules you abide by. : )

my number 1 rule no matter the situation is NEVER, EVER eat a super duper heavy meal…at first! some may disagree but think about it. i dont care what type of weed you smoked… after eating a really big meal you are nowhere NEAR as high as u could have been!

the solution to this i have found is eating small things like cookies, chips, crackers (cheeze-its…yummm), fruit snacks (my personal fave!), etc. things like this are small enough to satisfy ure hunger until youre absolutely ready to come down.

the main mistake munchers tend to make is eating their high away…causing them to have to roll another blunt. im all about weed conservation & why smoke number 2 prematurely?

when u are on your way down…thats when u grub! to each his own when it comes to this one. im a mexican food or chicken type of girl myself. by the time u finish… your first high should be gone & hopefully SOMEONE is rolling another blunt somewhere in the room. LOL

is this NEW guy really as great as u think? think about it. u just met him. youve known your boyfriend way longer-sometimes seniority wins.
are u willing to throw away everything u and your boyfriend have built for this new person?
is that new person on the same level [or above] that your boyfriend is on emotionally, physically & everything in between [does he have his life together?]
can this new person “replace” all the feelings and emotions u have invested into your boyfriend?

of course i could go on & on but u get the point. weighing out all the pros & cons between the two will give u your answer. solid evidence always outweighs the heart in significance. who knows? maybe that new guy is the one. but then again maybe thats just that initial giddy feeling & lust thats clouding your judgement.

so i was on twitter tonight reminesing about the stuff we used to like from the 80s & 90s and it inspired me to do this post. i just wanna momentarily take you back to the way things were…take a ride in the DeLorean with me for a sec as i remember a few of my favorite late 1980’s-1990’s shows, commercials & a few xtras.

i remember rushing home after school to catch shows like Alf & Small Wonder. THOSE were the shows to watch. Even earlier in my life I would watch shows like Fraggle Rock, The Smurfs & Snorks [the underwater version of the smurfs]. I loved the Smurfs so much, i had these little figurines all over my room!

my grandma would constantly step on one or two of them every single day. Oh! but my absolutely favorite cartoon to watch growing up? BOBBY’S WORLD. the intro tune would be stuck in my head for hours! “it’s GENERIC not generic!”

remember Eureeka’s Castle? having a child now i really wish Nick Jr was how it used to be with shows like David The Gnome & Gumbi. instead of the random colorful shit they show now. no substance at all….

ooh but then we got a bit older & we started watching shows like Clarissa Explains It All. I liked her soooo much more than Blossom. She just came off cooler yanno? Then there was SNICK. This late night block hosted shows like the Adventures of Pete & Pete, All That & one of my favorites…Are you Afraid of the Dark? LMAO the intro still scares me so watch with caution.

The commercials then were so corny now that i look at them in comparison to the ones today. this commercial made me laugh when i saw it because i would JUST DIE if my granny didnt but these when she went to the store…LMAO @ the blue one being called Berry B. Wild.

i was talkn with one of my super close friends from college today listening to her tell me about how awful her BFFs trip out to Georgia was. Theyve been friends since high school & it seems like theyve outgrown each other. nowadays its so hard to find genuine people so to lose an old friend is tragic to me.

what happens in between the time we used to laugh late night on the phone to barely keeping in touch? some of us choose a different kind of crowd to hang with while others chose a completely different life to live. either way eventually the things that bonded you 2 together you find is breaking away at the seams.

with all the fake people in the world u end up opening yourself up to people that in different circumstances u would have never given the time of day. from there youve built faulty friendships that always end quickly—& usually messy. in the past 3 years ive experienced 2 of these pseudo-friendships & thats why i honestly & truly do my very best to keep in touch with the friends that i know value my friendship as i do theirs.

ive lost so much dealing with bullshit ass bitches. to avoid this, here i am with only a handful of REAL friends and a plethora of acquaintances. i can literally count on 1 hand how many people know the real me & im fine with that.
